The first two units have been let in the commercial newbuild on the corner of Willy-Brandt-Strasse 55 and Neue Gröningerstrasse 13, for which Grossmann & Berger have been appointed the lead brokers.
Tallence Consulting GmbH is taking 515 m² of office space
on the fifth floor of this new property. The building, owned by the physicians’ pension fund ‘Ärzteversorgung Niedersachsen’, stands in front of two residential buildings in the new “Katharina Quarter”, thus shielding them from the traffic on Willy-Brandt-Strasse. Tallence, an IT firm which also has an office in Frankfurt, is moving out of its old premises in HafenCity because it needs room to expand.
One of the retail units
on the ground floor has also been let. The maker of custom-built cupboards and storage units, Schrankideen nach Maß GmbH, has been in business for 40 years and has a well-known brand, ‘Cabinet Schranksysteme’; the firm plans to occupy some 270 m² of sales floor. Up till now the firm has been located on ABC Strasse.
The “Katharina Quarter”
is being developed on a site formerly occupied by a school, set between Willy-Brandt-Strasse and St. Catherine’s church. The project has been jointly developed by Hochtief Projektentwicklung GmbH, Hamburg’s town planners and the church parish. The quarter has already been completed and consists of one office block and 131 rental apartments in two residential blocks overlooking an internal courtyard. Witthöft Immobilien GmbH is letting the apartments.
This quarter links Hamburg’s inner city with HafenCity and the historic Speicherstadt district. This development is one of the biggest residential projects offering rental properties in the city centre and will have a durable, positive impact on the vitality of the neighbourhood.
