SoBuy, an online furniture store, called upon Grossmann & Berger
, a member of German Property Partners
(GPP), for assistance in finding a suitable logistics property for its online order business in Rahlstedt. In the first quarter of 2019 SoBuy will be moving into rented halls and offices occupying some 10,000 m² in Neuer Höltigbaum. Previously, a dealer in outdoor articles used the site as their headquarters.
Hall with the right kind of fit-out
This commercial property offers SoBuy ideal conditions for its new logistics centre from which to despatch furniture and furnishings. Following its strong growth, the old hall and offices in Norderstedt had become too small for the firm. The size and fit-out of the new premises match what the furniture trader had in mind. Unlike the old rooms, this building also has the ideal ceiling height and is fitted in accordance with the latest standards.
Properties of this kind are exceptionally rare
This opportunity arose because the occupying outdoor equipment supplier decided a bigger logistics centre was required and set about looking for a new location. The owner of the property asked Grossmann & Berger to find a new tenant who would rent the entire property. Grossmann & Berger’s industrial/warehousing and logistics team already had a suitable tenant in mind – SoBuy. This logistics building is one of the biggest of its kind in the Hamburg district of Rahlstedt. “A logistics hall with such a first-class technical fit-out is absolutely ideal for an e-commerce enterprise, and it is extremely rare for one to come onto the market,” says Nico Beckmann
, consultant for industrial, warehousing and logistics
properties at Grossmann & Berger, who oversaw the leasing process for SoBuy.
