Hardegger Architects’ new offices take up some 240 m² of space in the “Bürgermeisterhaus” at Neuer Wall in Hamburg-Neustadt. Alexander Hardegger has worked as a self-employed architect with his own office since 2001 and is now moving to a second-floor loft studio overlooking the Alsterfleet canal.
The commercial and office property at Neuer Wall is owned by the Bürgermeisterhaus GmbH & Co. KG and the transaction was brokered by Grossmann & Berger, a member of German Property Partners (GPP).
The “Bürgermeisterhaus” stands on the lower part of Neuer Wall, in the third next to Bürgermeister-Petersen-Platz and nearest to HafenCity. Luxury brands such as Brioni, Dolce & Gabbana, Chanel and Eres have open shops in the immediate neighbourhood. The latter two companies took retail space on the ground floor of this listed building in transactions brokered by Grossmann & Berger.
Until the move, Hardegger Architects’ office was in another listed building, namely the “Finnlandhaus” at Esplanade 41. Developer Becken Projektentwicklung is currently completely refurbishing this building and adding a second block.
