Most of the new “Schlossquartier“ development in the historic centre of Kiel has now been completed and tenants have moved into the first of the 52 rental apartments at Flämische Strasse 1-3. The broker, property services provider Grossmann & Berger, is now taking enquiries from potential tenants of the new-build apartments. Nearly half of the units have been let already.
 
Right in the historic centre of Kiel
The “Schlossquartier” is currently the most important new-build development in Kiel. Apart from providing new homes for the growing city, the site has yielded some valuable archaeological finds that shed more light on the history of Kiel. The district is in the historic centre of Kiel, between Kiel Schloss, the fjord, Nikolai church and Schloss Strasse. “Just now, there are no new-build apartments for rent in a more central part of Kiel than these,” says Marc-Oliver Peschke, property consultant at Grossmann & Berger.
 
Garden courtyard
The development consists of a block structure surrounding a planted courtyard. The new-build rental apartments on Flämische Strasse are located in two buildings with separate entrances. Their brick façades, like those throughout the “Schlossquartier” development, are finished in a variety of colours. There are 27 apartments in building 1, and 25 in building no. 2. Lifts operate between the cellar and the six upper stories.
 
Plenty of living and storage space
The new-build apartments at Flämische Strasse comprise two to three rooms offering living space of between 48 and 106 m². The units have open plan living and dining areas, floor-to-ceiling windows, imitation wooden flooring, under-floor heating, bathrooms with shower or full-size bathtub and a storage room. “The fitted kitchens and bathrooms are of high quality with modern units and appliances,” says Philipp Windischmann, likewise a rental property consultant at Grossmann & Berger. Balconies, loggias or patios plus individual cellar units round off the package. Basic rents range from €728 to €1,399; including service charges they rise to between €847 and €1,664.
