KUHN Maßkonfektion Soon To Move
in Hamburg's Nikolai Quarter
Hamburg | 14.08.2014
With the assistance of Grossmann & Berger GmbH, the German family-owned made to measure tailoring firm KUHN Maßkonfektion KG has found new retail space on the ground floor of the “Schauenburg Plaza” project in Hamburg’s Nikolai Quarter. This traditional company, in operation since 1949 and present at 17 locations in Austria and Germany, specializes in made to measure shirts and suits for ladies and gentlemen; in autumn 2014 it will be opening a 214 m² shop at Schauenburgerstrasse 59. The move is not, therefore, taking KUHN out of its familiar district. The property, which is currently undergoing comprehensive refurbishment, is owned by the Grundstücksgesellschaft Schauenburgerstraße bR. The building is located on the continuation of Mönckebergstraße and offers a direct view of Hamburg Town Hall.
The entire Nikolai Quarter is in the throes of enormous changes. A BID scheme is reviving and enhancing the area. Currently, capital spending in this quarter reaches beyond Großer Burstah and Alter Wall to benefit the less central streets too.
